The Junior A team’s second outing (Rd 1 v Erins Own yet to be played) saw GBC take on Young Ireland’s in Tom Ryall Park on Saturday 27th April. GBC were missing at least eight players due to illness and injury but even so put up a spirited display from the throw in. Guilty of some wayward shooting the GBC side should have been more in control of the game from the start and were disappointed to be a point behind at the interval.
HT Score: GBC 1-7 Young Ireland’s 1-8.
The second half, with the assistance of the strong breeze saw GBC get into their stride and several players contributed to the local’s tally. However Young Irelands never relented and in the end GBC were lucky to run our winners with a two point margin.
