GBC U13’s made the short journey to Danesfort last Tuesday to play undefeated and League leaders Danesfort in Round 6 of the Roinn B League. The home side flew out of the traps hitting our boys with 3 goals in the opening quarter. GBC worked their way back into the match with some well worked points to only trail two points at half time: GBC 0-10, Danesfort 3-3.
Again, Danesfort started the half outscoring GBC 1-2 to 0-1 after 10 mins of 2nd half. A lesser team would have thrown in the towel but these boys showed massive character to push Danesfort all the way and the home side were relived to hear the final whistle to win by a single point. Full time: GBC 2-15, Danesfort 5-7. Great display again by this young team, (4 U11’s started and 6 finished). This game had everything, committment, blocking, hooking and skill from both sides made it a memorable match.
