Graigue Ballycallan played near neighbours Tullaroan in the first round of the Junior A HC on Tuesday last 6th August. The large crowd were treated to a good open game with both sides eager to reach the quarter final. GBC made the better start and quickly built up a four point lead, which in fact they were never to surrender throughout. GBC dominated in most areas of the field and with their good combination play went into the break leading by six points.
Half Time: GBC 1-12 Tullaroan 1-6.
GBC made a similar start to the second half and for the most part of the next thirty minutes were the stronger side. Tullaroan did rally in the third quarter but were repelled quickly by the local lads. GBC were deserving of their eventual victory, shooting 1-20 in total, all of which came from play.
