Intermediate camogie championship round 2

Hard luck to our Intermediate camogie team who lost the second round of the championship on Friday the 9th May. They encountered Paulstown in Paulstown on a cold dull evening. Even being without key players, including the usual half back line, the girls had a great game. The younger members of the panel such as Caoimhe Murphy, Charlotte McCluskey and Aisling Kelly really stepped up to the mark and gave great performances. Read more

Report by Niall Egan

The U8s had their first game of the year v St. Lachtain’s in Freshford on Saturday morning. We played two 7 a-side games, side by side, 15 mins a half. Team 1 were down by a 1-0 to 0-0 at half-time but rallied strongly in the 2nd half to lose out by a late Freshford goal, FT 5-0 to 4-1. Team 2 were out-muscled in the first half down 3-0 to 0-0 but like Team 1 put in a superb effort in the 2nd half and lost on a scoreline of 4-0 to 2-0. The boys have plenty to work on but showed lots of potential when they put their minds to it. We would like to encourage parents to help practice with their lads at home, 20 mins a day ground hurling, blocking, rising etc you would be amazed the difference it would make and of course make it fun.

TEAM 1: Sean McGrath, Issac Comerford, Paidi Egan, Elliot Teehan, Shane Cody, Donnacha Cleere, Robbie Tector.

TEAM 2: Cillian Hoyne, Frank McCluskey, Ben Young, James O’Halloran, Aidan Comerford, Philly O’Halloran, Eoghan Cahill.

Well done to Issac Comerford this week’s hurler of the week.
