The Late Billy Malone – An Appreciation

Recently the Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club were saddened to hear of the passing of Club Trustee Billy Malone.

Billy was elected one of the club’s trustees in 1990 shortly after the club purchased the land which was developed as the club’s grounds and officially opened in May 1997.

A dear friend and neighbour to all, Billy will be fondly remembered for his invaluable contribution to St. Brigids Camogie Club over many years.

Billy was an integral part of the club and officiated at all levels for both club and county, having been involved in the hugely successful seven-in-a-row Kilkenny camogie team.

He will be remembered as a  true friend and gentleman to all involved and was an ever-present voice offering words of encouragement and support to all camogie players and hurlers.

We hold onto wonderful memories of time spent with Billy on GAA fields the length and breadth of Ireland.

He leaves behind a wonderful family and we send our deepest sympathies to his daughters Marie, Anne, Celine and Deirdre, sister Brigid, Sons-in-law, 14 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Ar Dheis De go raibh a anam.
