GBC U12’s were invited to the Young Ireland’s U12 Tournament on Saturday May 19th. Our boys were drawn in a group with Clara, Piltown and Graignamanagh. On what was a glorious morning, we took on Clara in the opening fixture. This match was very well-balanced throughout. In the final 5 minutes, Clara pulled away with some well-taken points to run out winners GBC 1-2 Clara 1-6.
Match two saw us pitted against a strong Piltown side who were in control throughout. Despite this our boys never dropped their heads and kept hurling until the final whistle. Full Time Score: GBC 1-2 Piltown 4-4.

We had a fairly quite start to the year, added to that 10 of our panel were also part of the under 14 panel, taking part in the Football and Hurling League and Championship and also the Féile.
