Graigue Ballycallan U10’s participated in the Ballyhale U10 Aylward Cup Tournament on Sat 1st September.
In the first match they were up against Dunnamaggin and had a great win 5-2 to 0-0. Next up was Davidstown of Wexford and the boys had another great win, 5-5 to 1-00. U10 Review of 2016

Report by Phil Maher

The U10s  commenced indoor training in Wallslough in February.  The team worked on basic skills and techniques for 5 weeks which created ideal building blocks for the months ahead.
In March they progressed nicely to our own local turf in Tom Ryall Park in Kilmanagh.  Great credit must be given to all the lads for their dedication and commitment as the intensity picked up every week.

U10 Mini Blitz Tullaroan Field Day – Sunday 29th August 2016

Report by Phil Maher

Graigue Ballycallan, Galmoy, Freshford and Tullaroan

Graigue Ballycallan U10’s were invited to Tullaroan’s Field Day to play in a mini blitz on Sunday 29th August. With a full squad available, we were confident of a good performance and it didn’t disappoint with the team making it to the final.

The first game was against Freshford and Graigue made great use of the wind in the first half, enjoying a comfortable lead to the break. The wind assisted Freshford in the second half as they gradually clawed back their deficit.  However, a few well-crafted points from Ben Young and relentless defending from Paidí, Sean and Robbie kept the home team ahead to the final whistle. Score ended Graigue Ballycallan 0–7 to Freshford 1–2 and this win was made all the more enjoyable as the team had to dig deep to hold their lead. Read more

O’Loughlin Gaels U10 Mini Blitz – 19/08/2016

Report by Phil Maher

Graigue Ballycallan,  O’Loughlin Gaels and Castlecomer

Our U10 boys travelled again this year to O’Loughlin Park to play in a mini blitz on Thursday 19th August and a good performance was crucial after the comprehensive defeat at the hands of Paulstown the week before in Kilmanagh. Although it must be noted that on that same evening well over half the team were unavailable because of holidays and hence with a relative small group every chap’s absence had an impact.  Read more

Graigue Ballycallan U10s v Danesfort – Friday 17/5/2016

Report by Phil Maher

Graigue Ballycallan U10’s hosted Danesfort at Tom Ryall Park in Kilmanagh on Friday 17th May ably assisted by some brave boys from the U8’s. All were needed against a team that were spoilt for choice in the numbers they had available. Both clubs divided into two groups of ten players and each team rotated so that two hard fought games were played on a windy pitch. Everyone will learn from these hard fought games and in the long run it’s the Team effort that comes out on top! Read more
