We had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the O’Loughlin Gaels U7 Blitz on 22nd June.
Well done to all 29 hurlers who played their hearts out over the course of the day. Everybody got to play 3 games which were played in fantastic spirit and with great enthusiasm. Both parents and mentors were delighted with their efforts and the boys were thrilled with their well deserved medals.

Our U11 team visited Ballyragget on the 16th of June to compete in the Roinn B competition.
The group consisted of Graigue Ballycallan, Kinvara from Galway, Portlaoise, Ballyragget and our neighbours Danesfort.
First up was Portlaoise and the boys came though with flying colours, raising green flags and winning comfortably.
We had 24 very enthusiastic boys at our first training sessions on April 6th are are catering for over 30 boys in this age group.
We’ve played Danesfort and St. Lachtain’s in 2 challenge matches so far and all the parents and indeed grandparents are delighted with the stars for the future!!

Congratulations to Martin Brennan who won our Club’s Féile Skills competition at the weekend.
Martin will now go on to represent our club in the County Féile Skills Competition and we wish him the very best in that!

What a glorious day to start the Under 11’s hurling season in the Boro at the CBS Secondary School blitz and despite the results not going our way, the performance of the boys was as bright as the day that was in it.
The first game against John Locks saw our first goal belted into the net by Cian Ronan.
Eastie then made a fine clearance from the backs that would have surely resulted in a score only for his quick reaction. Corms Neary showed that he could not only stop the scores in goal but when outfield could pop them over the bar too. Even with the heat of the day, the cool heads of Ben McEvoy and Michael Tynan were dazzling.
