U16 Camogie 2019

U8 Camogie
U8 News Tuesday 9th June:
Our U8 girls played neighbours Callan in warm conditions. The girls put up a great performance, showing great teamwork and heart. A special well done to the three girls from U6 who played great Camogie with the U8’s tonight.
U10 camogie
Under 10 blitz – Saturday 29th June
Our under 10’s headed for Thomastown to take part in another blitz. We had a great group of girls ready to take part in the day. We faced 3 tough challenges in our matches against Thomastown and 2 Dicksboro teams, but the girls fought hard and showed great determination. Some good skill was shown by our girls! It was an enjoyable morning for all.

U12 Camogie
Well done to our U12’s who had a very hard fought win over John Locke’s on Monday 8th July at home in the League. It was a very close game with neither team winning by much at any stage. The work rate and determination that the girls showed especially in the last 10 minutes was fantastic to see.
All players dug deep to come out with the win on a scoreline of 6-3 to 5-1. Thank you to all who came to support the girls, our next game is on 22nd July. Details to follow!
All Ireland National Feile Skills
St. Brigid’s Camoige Club would like to wish Lauren Ronan the very best of luck in the All-Ireland National Féile Skills on Saturday 22nd June in GAA National Centre of Excellence Abbottstown, Dublin. Lauren represents both St. Brigid’s and Kilkenny on the day.

U14 County Camogie
U14 County Camoige —Munster Cup LIT. Congrats to Kilkenny U14’s who were victorious beating Limerick/Clare/Galway/Cork and Limerick in Final! St. Brigid’s were represented by Lauren Ronan who played and had the honour of captaining the Team. Also, Kilkenny reached the Shield Final and were runners up to Laois in the Final. Here St. Brigid’s were represented by Katie Maher and Ava Brett! Well done girls!!
All Ireland Schools 7’s Success for St Brigid’s girls!
Congrats to Reece Delaney (Capt), Ellie O’Neill and Lauren Ronan who won the All-Ireland Post Primary Schools 7’s competition with Presentation Secondary School Kilkenny on Thursday last. Representing Leinster and beating the Munster, Connaught and Ulster teams. The girls beat Our Lady’s of Down in the Final on a score line of 5-7 to 3-12!
Congrats to all involved!
U16 Roinn A Champions presented with half zips by Eddie Brennan
St. Brigid’s Ballycallan Kilkenny Roinn A U16 Champions being presented with their Bourke Sports Half Zips by Kilkenny and fellow Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club star Eddie Brennan! Many thanks to Eddie for making the presentation to the girls prior to their fantastic Championship win a few weeks ago!
U16 Roinn A League Final 18/10/18
Thursday the 18th of October in Mooncoin, under lights, was the unusual setting and venue for this fixture. After days of trying to find a suitable venue Mooncoin came up trumps and hosted the final. In ideal surrounds Mooncoin was in splendid condition and the opportunity to hurl under lights was welcomed by all the girls.

U16 Roinn A County Title for St. Brigid’s!
Last Saturday morning 6th October 2018, in a sun drenched Bennettsbridge, St. Brigid’s defied all the odds to beat Thomastown and be crowned U16 Roinn A Champions. It was a remarkable achievement for a team who competed in Roinn B last year.

St Brigids claim U14 Roinn A County Title!
On Saturday evening last (22nd September) in Freshford, St. Brigid’s took on Dicksboro in the Roinn A U14 County Final. This was the first meeting between the two teams since the Féile Final back in April where Dicksboro came out on top 4-8 to 3-2. Both teams were undefeated in the League Championship coming into this game and had enjoyed big wins in their semi-finals, Dicksboro beat Emeralds 3-15 to 1-5 and St. Brigid’s saw off Glenmore on a scoreline of 6-15 to 1-4.
