U6 Camogie News

Under 6 Camogie: Our season came to an end with our final game against John Lockes in Callan on Saturday morning 11th September. The girls were kept busy this year with training every Wednesday night and five games against Tullaroan, Freshford and John Lockes. With a panel of 19 enthusiastic players, the improvement in the team was evident from game to game. We have no doubt this group will continue to develop into a fantastic team in the years ahead. Missing from photo on our last day out were Holly Bourke, Jasmine Davis, Hannah Corrigan and sisters Daisy & Darcie Fitzpatrick.

Minor Camogie Report 2019

Minor Camogie 2019 was always going to be a big ask as we were now in Roinn A after our great success in beating Thomastown in the U16 Roinn A final in 2018. The challenge to be competitive was made more difficult as we only had one girl up to the age of 18. Not withstanding that we had a bunch of girls who had shown great character over the past few years. So Minor 2019 would be a challenge, a year of learning and a year of maintaining our competitiveness.

U16 Camogie 2019

2019 U16 St. Brigid’s camogie and there were huge expectations for 2019. Why? Well as 2018 Roinn A champions after our memorable win over Thomastown in Bennettsbridge this was a grade where we enjoyed success. We lost a number of key players from 2018 but still held on to the majority of the 2018 panel, so we were quietly confident of doing well. Unfortunately we were dealt a cruel wrong when we lost our excellent goalie Ellie O’Neill to the dreaded cruciate injury for 2019.

Well done to our U12’s who had a very hard fought win over John Locke’s on Monday 8th July at home in the League. It was a very close game with neither team winning by much at any stage. The work rate and determination that the girls showed especially in the last 10 minutes was fantastic to see.
All players dug deep to come out with the win on a scoreline of 6-3 to 5-1. Thank you to all who came to support the girls, our next game is on 22nd July. Details to follow!
