Intermediate camogie ACL vs Paulstown 17/4/16

Well done to our Intermediate Camogie team who had a great win in the second round of the All-County League last Sunday 17th April. They beat Paulstown in Kilmanagh in perfect conditions. The girls were dominant from the start with plenty of ball being fed to the forward lines from midfield and the half back lines.

They had a brilliant first half with a huge score being accumulated. Bronagh Neary kicked off the scoring with a point from a free after Marie Doheny was fouled between the half and full forward lines. Within the first 15 minutes of the game they had racked up 1-07 unanswered with 1-06 from play. Paulstown scored their 1st and only point from play in the first half after sixteen minutes. Bronagh then answered with her second goal of the game soon after. Brilliant play from both corner and half backs and Therese Muldowney and Sarah Dunphy up the center meant the Paulstown girls only had two more opportunities to score but were denied both. In the final fifteen minutes of the first half the St. Brigid’s forwards scored a whopping 4-12. Half time score 6-19 to 0-1.
Paulstown were the first to come out with a score in the second half but Eimear Keoghan and Eadoain Murphy answered with their own points soon after. The girls scored a further 4 points within the next ten minutes. This was the end of the scoring for St. Brigid’s but they showed some excellent displays of defending, hooking and blocking for the rest of the game. Paulstown scored 1-2 from play in the time remaining, the goal coming from a hand pass into the net. By the end of the game all of the St. Brigid’s substitutes were brought on and each played well. The game finished off with a penalty for Paulstown but it was saved and cleared. The girls gave a superb display of camogie from start to finish and hopefully we will see more it it throughout the year! Full time score 6-25 to 1-5.
