J.J. Ryan’s trip to Croke Park for 1916 Commemoration – 24/04/2016

All participant’s in Scór were invited to audition for the reading of the Proclamation at the Laochra 1916 Commemoration on League Final Sunday in Croke Park on 24/4/2016. This involved sending a video of J.J. reading excerpts from the Proclamation in both Irish and English to Tyrone Productions. One child from each county was chosen to represent their county on the day and J.J. was delighted to be selected from Kilkenny.
All representatives spent the full weekend preparing for this momentous occasion in Croke Park, arriving for rehearsals on both Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th at 9am. They practised their individual lines, voice projection, positioning on the pitch and adjusting their microphones.
This was a fantastic opportunity to meet other young people from all over Ireland, many of whom JJ has maintained contact with.
To represent Kilkenny and read from the Proclamation to a sell-out crowd of 82,000, including the President and the Taoiseach, along with live coverage on TG4 was a huge honour and privilege for J.J.
