Our seniors took on Leinster club champions Thomastown in the 2nd round of the Championship on Monday July 30th in Thomastown. The game started off in favour of Thomastown where they scored two points from play in the first six minutes but Caoimhe Murphy soon converted two points to bring the girls level. That was to be their last scoring of the half with ten minutes gone while Thomastown continued to score another five.
A series of saves from Miriam Walton and trojan work from the backs stopped the gap from widening further, leaving the half time score at 7 points to 2 points in favour of Thomastown. The second half was dominated by Thomastown where they scored 3-8 while the girls converted 2-2. This left the final score at Thomastown 3-15 St. Brigid’s 2-4.
