U15 Hurling – Year End Report

Our Under 15 hurlers battled hard and bravely throughout every game contested this year. The League saw a mixed range of results ranging from wet and miserable conditions in Glenmore and Kilmacow to a dazzling summer performance in Paulstown.
A fantastic tournament win in O’Loughlin Gaels towards the end of May brought renewed determination and optimism to the group. Some excellent hurling during the tournament saw victories over John Lockes, Barrow Rangers and O’Loughlin Gaels.

Sadly our lads exited the Championship at the first round at the hands of St. Martin’s. We suffered some very bad luck that evening and lost a player to a broken ankle to compound matters. We finished the year on a high however on home soil by winning the Declan Byrne Memorial Tournament Shield. The final was very competitive, finishing level after normal and extra time with 65’s required to settle the contest which we won by 3 points to 2. All in all, a great bunch of talented hurlers whose tenacity is an inspiration to all. Well done lads!
