The 3rd Round of the St. Canice’s Credit Union HL took place in Dunnamaggin on Wednesday 22nd May. A large crowd eagerly anticipated a competitive game but were left disappointed with the fare on offer. The locals came up short on the night and had to give way to a physically stronger and very driven Rower-Inistioge on the night. GBC were under pressure from the throw in and it took them the first quarter to get somewhat settled on the ball. However, after a GBC goal attempt was saved off the line, to be followed quickly by a goal at the other end of the field it was evident that this was not to be GBC’s night.
Half Time: GBC 0-5 Rower-Inistioge 1-9.
After the restart GBC did try to up the intensity but it was to no avail as their opponents were dominating every area of the field. In fact were it not for some wayward shooting from the Rower, the winning margin could have been even greater.

There now will be a break until the autumn and the next game will be v Danesfort on the 1st Sept.
