Report by Niall Egan

Our U8’s travelled to Croke Park on the 15th of July to play Rathdowney Errill in a Go Games challenge. A panel of 17 travelled, along with family members via Ronan Brothers Coaches. Upon arrival in Croke Park, the team were privileged to tog out and see the Croke Park dressing rooms before running on to the sacred turf. They played a 40 minute game with each player getting to play a full half.

After the match the team walked up the steps of the Hogan Stand to raise the cup. The boys all received an official team photo, a t-shirt and a pair of socks as a momento of the occasion. On the way home we stopped off in Naas for some food and bowling, before finally heading home. This was an unforgettable day for the boys who did themselves and their club proud with their behaviour and hurling skills. Big thanks to Niall, Padraig, Billy and Mick who helped organise everything and to Glenn Tector our official photographer on the day and finally to our club who sponsored the bus.

The following was the lucky panel to play in Croke Park : Cillian Hoyne, Ben Young, Elliot Teehan, Eoghan Cahill, Páidí Egan, Sean McGrath, James O’Halloran, Donnacha Cleere, Aidan Comerford, Frank McCluskey, Shane Cody, Robbie Lynch, Robbie Tector, Tony Butler, Shane Cody, Christopher Mahony, Brandon Skurzzewski. We hope you all get to play there again some day!
