U-10 camogie news

Match report by Olivia Hogan

Last Saturday saw St. Brigid’s U10s host their own blitz to our visitors Tullaroan, Thomastown and Dicksboro.

What a day for our little parish! Firstly, to Gussy, Johnny and Jack, the pitch wouldn’t have looked out of place at St.Andrews (except for the goal posts of course)!!
Secondly, The Mammies, what can I say only thumbs up, full bellies, empty plates and smiling faces, that’s the greatest compliment the children could give. Only one small diva/manager request for the next time – Biscuit Cake…
Thirdly, a big thank you to the referees, Eimear and Ann and of course, Josie, where would we be without you!
Finally, but most importantly, the girls, what a day!
Our first game against Thomastown saw a cracker of a save by Butsy (Sarah B), who then showed that she could also do it at the other end of the pitch by scoring a goal of her own.
The second game against Tullaroan is where we really shone. Lor (Lauren) showed a fantastic display hitting from both sides to score 3 goals and what skillful hand passing also. For Robynho (Robyn), I think there must have been a magnet in the ball because despite scoring 1-1, several times she was denied by the crossbar and post.
Katie and Ella Della were like 2 cheetahs running all over the pitch. Haz (Hannah) and Nads (Nada) kept midfield as solid as a rock.
Walty (Amy) and Titch (Kirsten) didn’t let their hand injuries stop their fine displays.
Our last match against the Boro saw our own Thunder (Sarah D), Hoggie (Niamh) and Divil Delaney(Grace) put their names on the scoring sheet for our 3rd win. Great result girls, but wouldn’t be achievable without the guidance of our great manager Ronnie!!
