U14 camogie news

Report by- Mary East
On Thursday 31st August, St. Brigid’s U14 girls travelled to St. Lachtain’s Freshford to play the Roinn A Semi-Final against what was a very strong and powerful Dicksboro side.

The first 10-15 mins saw our girls a little unsettled but they fought extremely hard for every ball. After about 15 mins they got stuck in and showed great fight and determination. At the end of a tough first half St. Brigid’s were only one point behind, half time score 1-2 to 1-3.
The girls came out strong right from the whistle in the second half and put it up to The Boro. Dicksboro got two quick goals but this didn’t deflate our girls, after a 7 point turnaround with just 12 mins to go things were looking good. Unfortunately the Boro came back at us and got a fluky goal and a point. The girls fought to the bitter end but it wasn’t to be our day. Final score Dicksboro 4-5 to St. Brigid’s 3-5.
On behalf of Mike Wall, Willie O’Neill, Mary McCluskey, Sinead Melaniff and myself we would like to thank all the girls for putting in such huge effort all year both at training and matches. They are such a talented group of young ladies and are a credit to themselves and their parents alike. We have no doubt they will go places.
