Minior A Camogie Tuesday 9th April

Our Minior girls travelled to Gowran on Tuesday 9th April off the back of a great win over Piltown the previous week. The girls put in a great first half against a very strong and up to the age Gowran side. The scoreline at half time was Gowran 1-9  St Brigid’s 0-3. Gowran came out like a force to be reckoned with in the second half. Our young girls put in great determination and teamwork but were broke down by this Gowran side at every chance. The final score does not reflect the effort put in by this young St. Brigid’s side. Final score Gowran 5-13 St Brigid’s 1-8.

U14 League Match V Gowran

Our U14 girls started their league campaign on Monday 8th April v Gowran in Tom Ryall Park. Gowran started the better side but that didn’t stop St. Brigid’s. When they got a hold of the ball, off they took with great determination and great skill they put a brilliant goal in the back of the net. Gowran ran at the St. Brigid’s girls throughout the first half but the girls put over a few more points and were winning by 2 points at half time. There was no stopping the St Brigid’s girlS in the second half, a great team performance was displayed and all subs coming from the line showing great impact. A brilliant result for our first match ending on a scoreline of St. Brigid’s 4-10 Gowran 3-6.

U13 Medal Presentation

Last Friday night, December 28th, our victorious U13’s were presented with their medals in Ballycallan Hall. In what was a great year for this bunch of hurlers, they won the Roinn A Country Cup in both Hurling and Football and the Cumann na mBunscoil Roinn A Final with St. Aidan’s NS. These boys were also very successful in the club competitions, winning the Roinn B Football Championship and the Roinn A Hurling Championship and the Lisdowney 7’s Shield.

They are the first county club to win the Tom Ryall Cup and it was fitting that members of the Ryall family were in attendance on the night. MC for the night, Club Charimain Dave O’Neill, presented all the players and Billy Ryan and John Byrne (Bord na nÓg Chairman) were on hand to present the medals and acknowledge their achievements.

U13 Year End Report

We started back in January in Ballycallan Hall with Adrian Landy putting the lads through their paces over a ten week period. We started playing football in February and won the Roinn B Football Championship beating Barrow Rangers, Glenmore and Clara in the final. Read more

They were now through to the quarter final and were up against Rower Inistioge. The boys dug deep and came out worthy winners 2-6 to 2-2. In the semi final their opponents were hosts Ballyhale Shamrocks who proved too strong for our boys on a scoreline of 2-2 to 0-3.
