U12 Callan Alive Tournament – Sunday 3rd August 2014

Graigue Ballycallan U12 Team played 2 games in the Callan Alive Tournament on Sunday 3rd Aug.
Their first game was against Thomastown and our lads getting off to a flyer with 3 well taken scores from Oisín Egan but to their credit Thomastown fought their way back into the game and took the lead with 5 mins to the break. Then the turning point in the game came when a lack in concentration from our full back line let a Thomastown corner forward in for a soft goal just on halftime.

Lisdowney Sevens Quarter Final – 2nd August 2014

The GBC U-13 seven-aside team bowed out to eventual cup winners James Stephens in this afternoon’s quarter final. The Village opened the scoring with two well taken points, before two frees from Oisín Egan brought the sides back level.  Then, a well taken goal from Finn Lanigan put our boys ahead 1-02 to 0-03. James Stephens replied quickly with another goal from a tight angle. Read more

Our U8’s travelled to Croke Park on the 15th of July to play Rathdowney Errill in a Go Games challenge. A panel of 17 travelled, along with family members via Ronan Brothers Coaches. Upon arrival in Croke Park, the team were privileged to tog out and see the Croke Park dressing rooms before running on to the sacred turf. They played a 40 minute game with each player getting to play a full half.

U12 Go Games – Team White – Saturday 19th July 2014

The U12 Team White travelled to Graiguenamanagh on Saturday morning 19th July to play their 1st match in the U12 Go Games series.

Due to a shortage of players because of holidays there was a few U10’s asked to travel who certainly held their own at this level and are surely 2 boys with a good future, well done Charlie Cleere and Billy Egan.
Our boys were a little slow to start and conceded a couple of early goals. However, that did not faze them and they all put their heads down to get a few scores they deserved. The game was played for a full hour and only for the lack of a little bit of luck in front of goal, we certainly would have finished closer on the scoreboard. However, there were plenty of positives and some decent performances on the morning with Kevin Ging, Brendan Dunne, Eoin Delahunty, JJ Ryan, Jack Cleere and John Muldowney showing up well.

Under 16 Hurling League Round 4

Report by Bill Cuddihy

Graigue Ballycallan’s U-16 team recently returned to winning ways over a stern Slieverue side in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh. A determined G.B.C  began in good form following a number of tough training sessions and challenge matches. The teams started trading scores from the throw-in before G.B.C began to take control scoring 1-3 without reply with Geordan Davis scoring a fine goal and a point to leave the scoreline standing at 1-6 to 0-3 in favour of the Kilmanagh side.
