U16 Hurling Championship First Round v St. Lachtains, 19/08/14

On Tuesday last in Tullaroan, GBC Under 16s played St. Lachtain’s in the first round of the championship. GBC were very impressive in the first half, first to the ball and moving it cleverly all over the pitch. Jamie Lawlor was on fire at full forward, scoring 2-3 in thirty minutes. Aaron Brennan bagged another two goals, while Killian Egan and Dylan Lanigan added a point each. Read more

Under 16 Hurling League Round 4

Graigue Ballycallan’s U-16 team recently returned to winning ways over a stern Slieverue side in Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh. A determined G.B.C  began in good form following a number of tough training sessions and challenge matches. The teams started trading scores from the throw-in before G.B.C began to take control scoring 1-3 without reply with Geordan Davis scoring a fine goal and a point to leave the scoreline standing at 1-6 to 0-3 in favour of the Kilmanagh side. U16 Hurling League Round 1 – 04/04/14

GBC U16s played Piltown in the first round of the league on Friday evening. Playing against a slight breeze, GBC opened the scoring with a point from play from Sean Ryan in the first minute. Piltown pointed three frees before Dylan Lanigan steadied the ship with a good point from play. Piltown’s goalkeeper pointed a long range free, putting them ahead, four points to two. Their full forward broke through the GBC defence and fired a shot on goal from close range. Bill Cuddihy brought of very good reflex save and the resultant 65 was pointed.
