Graigue Ballycallan 5-14
On a breezy Saturday afternoon in Tom Ryall Park, Graigue Ballycallan Junior B team took on Dicksboro. Graigue started well going ahead after a James Gleeson point. However, Dicksboro made use of the wind and began to score freely with some good long-range points. GBC did not lie down though and regained the lead with a hard-fought goal from Padraig Murphy. The U8s had their first game of the year v St. Lachtain’s in Freshford on Saturday morning. We played two 7 a-side games, side by side, 15 mins a half. Team 1 were down by a 1-0 to 0-0 at half-time but rallied strongly in the 2nd half to lose out by a late Freshford goal, FT 5-0 to 4-1. Team 2 were out-muscled in the first half down 3-0 to 0-0 but like Team 1 put in a superb effort in the 2nd half and lost on a scoreline of 4-0 to 2-0. The boys have plenty to work on but showed lots of potential when they put their minds to it. We would like to encourage parents to help practice with their lads at home, 20 mins a day ground hurling, blocking, rising etc you would be amazed the difference it would make and of course make it fun.
TEAM 1: Sean McGrath, Issac Comerford, Paidi Egan, Elliot Teehan, Shane Cody, Donnacha Cleere, Robbie Tector.
TEAM 2: Cillian Hoyne, Frank McCluskey, Ben Young, James O’Halloran, Aidan Comerford, Philly O’Halloran, Eoghan Cahill.
Well done to Issac Comerford this week’s hurler of the week.

The U12 team had their first run out of the season on Thursday evening when Danesfort visited with a strong squad of 17 players. Numbers is certainly no issue with this group as we have 27 players registered for the year ahead.
Congratulations to our intermediate camogie team who have won the first round of the championship. The game took place on Thursday the 24th April against Lisdowney in Tom Ryall park. From the start the girls were the stronger team and had 3 points on the board before Lisdowney scored. The forwards kept the scores flowing through the first half and the backs defended very well.
